One of the area’s longtime spring traditions will return later this month, as Big Cussetah Methodist Church hosts its annual Wild Onion Dinner on Saturday, March 21.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, located east of Okmulgee. Community members are invited to gather for a meal and fellowship while enjoying the seasonal favorite that has long been part of local heritage.
Meal prices are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 10 and under, with the cost including a drink and dessert. Guests will have the choice of tea or lemonade, while pop and bottled water will be available for purchase separately.
In addition to the meal, the event will feature an arts and crafts sale, offering local vendors an opportunity to showcase handmade items and goods. Those interested in setting up a booth may reserve a 10-by-10 space for $25, or $10 if a table is needed. Vendors are asked to bring their own tables and chairs. Set-up will begin at 9 a.m., with the sale running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For vendor information, participants can text 539-307-0108.
The church is located threeand-a-half miles east of Okmulgee on Highway 62 and threeand-a-half miles south on Prairie Bell Road.
