Maxine Lee Hinshaw, 87, of Edmond, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, after a short illness.
She was one of six children born to the late Thomas and Sylvie Valerie (Perron) Buxton on April 13, 1938, in Belle Vernon, Penn.
Maxine graduated from Saint Anthony High School in Okmulgee. She worked as a beautician in Okmulgee for over 20 years.
Maxine met her late husband, Jake Hinshaw, in Okmulgee, and they were married on July 4, 1969. Together, they made their home in Okmulgee. They had two daughters, Yvonne and Nancy. In 1981, Jake and Maxine relocated their family to Arkansas City, Kansas, where they resided for 15 years. She and Jake returned to Okmulgee upon retirement.

become known as Gran with the birth of her granddaughters. She was a loving and proud grandmother.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Allred and husband Brad and Nancy Frissell and husband Scott; granddaughters, Piper Allred, Ainsley Allred, Eilish Frissell and Emily Frissell; twin sister, Marlene Strenge; and brother-inlaw Horace Hinshaw, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at McClendon -Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee on Thursday, March 12, 2026, beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Okmulgee, with Fr. Kenneth Harder officiating. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.
