Residents of the City of Okmulgee will have several opportunities in 2026 to dispose of unwanted household trash at no cost, thanks to a series of Free Trash-Off Days scheduled at the Okmulgee Municipal Landfill.
The special disposal days are available exclusively to current residential water and sewer account holders within the City of Okmulgee and are designed to help residents clear out unwanted items while keeping the community clean.
Four dates have been scheduled throughout the year, including March 7, June 13, Sept. 19 and Dec. 5.
On each of these dates, the landfill will be open for the program from 8-11:30 a.m. Officials emphasize that gates will close promptly at 11:30 a.m., and late arrivals will not be admitted.
The Free Trash-Off Days will take place at the Okmulgee Municipal Landfill, located at 17480 S. 270 Rd. in Morris.
To participate, residents must bring a current residential water bill and a valid ID to verify eligibility.
City officials also note that certain items will not be accepted during these events, including tires, barbed wire, chain link fence or other metal fencing materials and any items containing refrigerant.
In addition to the free dump days, residents are reminded that the City offers a Bulky Item Pickup Service. For more information about that service or other questions, residents may contact Okmulgee Public Works at 918-756-4159.
The scheduled disposal days provide a convenient and cost-free way for residents to responsibly dispose of household waste, helping maintain cleaner neighborhoods throughout the year.
