Norris Shane Kerby was born on August 9, 1973, in Pima, Ariz. to Theda Helton and Norris Kerby.

Shane moved with his family to Okmulgee after the death of his father.

After training in computers, he found his true calling as a nursing aide, inspired by caring for his stepfather. Shane was known for his humor, his beautiful eyes and his laid-back style. He

enjoyed dining out and had a fondness for gambling. Shane married Jerry Stratton, and they shared 20 loving years. He is survived by his wife Jerry, his daughter Kayla and her husband Kenny and his two cherished grandchildren, his other passion in life. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and extended family.

Shane passed away on January 22 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after a brief illness at age 52.

A memorial service for Norris will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
