Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, FEMA recently approved 546 projects worth more than $867 million in funding to support recovery for disasters in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas for Public Assistance projects. These projects include debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair or replacement of public infrastructure damaged by recent disasters.

This regional funding is part of a broader effort announced by the Department of Homeland Security. In this past week alone, DHS and FEMA approved more than $2.2 billion in Public Assistance projects to communities across the U.S.

Here are some FEMA grants recently approved for Louisiana and Texas:

• $75,714,165 to the Office of Risk Management for the West Belle Pass Barrier Headland Restoration Project for permanent work as a result of FEMA-DR-4577-LA (Hurricane Zeta).

• $59,679,166.27 to Jefferson Parish for permanent repairs to the Waterline Replacement Grand Isle and Lafitte as a result of FEMA-DR-4611-LA (Hurricane Ida).

• $47,056,962.78 to the Texas Division of Emergency Management for state management costs as a direct result of FEMA-DR-4332-TX (Hurricane Harvey).

• $37,519,274.70 to the South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association for permanent repairs as a result of FEMA-DR-4611-LA (Hurricane Ida).

• $30,046,406.25 to the Texas Division of Emergency Management for debris removal operations as a result of FEMA-DR-4879-TX (Severe Storms, Straight-line Winds and Flooding).

FEMA will continue to review additional projects and obligate funds on a rolling basis as eligibility is confirmed and scopes of work are finalized.
