The Okmulgee Lions Club packed a lot into this week’s meeting, spending the day focused on service, recognition and a little fun along the way.
Lions members began by providing a meal and hosting a special program to express their appreciation for the Okmulgee Firefighters, recognizing the dedication and years of service of those who protect the community each day. Firefighters in attendance included Paul Fowler, who has served for 35 years; Rocky Morrow, with 23 years of service; Dalton Chandler and Zack Ledbetter, each marking 10 years; Chris Summers, with four years; and John Evans, with three years of service.
The meeting also included a moment to celebrate student achievement, as the Lions recognized their January Students of the Month. Congratulations were extended to Alice Wise and Yahkeem Hunt for their accomplishments and hard work.
To round out the gathering, the club wrapped things up on a lighthearted note with bingo – where Beth Flud once again came out on top as the winner.
From honoring first responders to spotlighting students and sharing fellowship, the Lions Club meeting reflected the organization’s ongoing commitment to serving and celebrating the Okmulgee community.
