Michael Anthony Leybas Sr.

Michael Anthony Leybas Sr., 69, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Tulsa. He was born October 12, 1956, in Henryetta to Bennie Leos Leybas and Lillian Georgia Leybas. Michael was a longtime resident of Okmulgee and came from a deeply rooted local family. He was known for his quiet strength and devotion to family. He loved football and watching football every Sunday. His favorite team was the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Lillian Leybas; his brother, Kenny Leybas; his sister, Shirley Gean McKay; his niece, Cecelia Georgette Leybas-Barton; and nephew, Asa John Leybas. He is survived by his wife, Anita Leybas; his two sisters, Bertha Brown and Daisy Leybas; his brothers, Bennie Leybas, Waddie Leybas, Daniel Leybas and Johnny Leybas; his sons, Michael Anthony Leybas Jr. and daughter- in-law Cyndi Leybas, Eli Thomas Leybas and Erin Martin; and his grandchildren, Makayla Ann Leybas, Sofia Noelle Leybas, Reaghan Leybas, Jacob Deo, Kaylix Leybas and Zay Zay, all of whom were a great source of pride and love in his life along with many cousins, nieces and October 12, 1956 – January 27, 2026

nephews. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.

His strength was quiet, his love was constant and his presence will never be forgotten. He loved his family deeply. His hopes and dreams live on through those he loved. A life marked by strength, love and devotion to family. “Forever remembered, forever loved, and forever in our hearts. A life well-lived, a love well shared, a memory that will never fade. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

Viewing was held Monday, February 2, 2026, from 12-5 p.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Newton Methodist Church in Okmulgee. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon- Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
