The Town of Grayson Fire Department is built on long-standing service and strong regional cooperation. Mayor Leon Anderson, who also serves as Fire Chief, has been part of the department since the early 2000s. Fellow firefighter Larry Phillips has dedicated more than 20 years to protecting the community.
The department operates with a seven- member team, covering Grayson and responding when neighboring towns need assistance. Likewise, surrounding departments respond when Grayson faces major emergencies.
“It’s a mutual aid thing,” Anderson said. “Everyone helps everybody.”
With a population of about 127 residents, according to the 2020 U.S. Census, Grayson depends heavily on cooperation, commitment and experienced leadership to maintain public safety.
