OCEM Report

This report is a summary of activities Okmulgee County Emergency Management participated in and does not reflect all activities performed by or participated in by Okmulgee County Emergency Management.

— Meetings & Coordination

• Attended the Okmulgee County Board of County Commissioners meeting and the County Budget Board meeting to provide updates on ongoing emergency management initiatives and grant-related activities.

• Met with Motorola Solutions to discuss upgrading and expanding the Okmulgee County radio communications infrastructure. Discussions focused on improving countywide coverage, enhancing interoperability and researching potential grant funding opportunities for a modernized radio system.

• Met with Muskogee Communications to upgrade and reprogram radio activation for the Morris Outdoor Warning Sirens. These improvements increase activation range and allow sirens to be activated directly from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

• Held a meeting with Genasys regarding potential integration of Genasys Alert across Okmulgee County to enhance mass notification and public warning capabilities.

— Operations & Response

• Requested and coordinated drone operations to assist the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol during a manhunt in the northern portion of the county.

• Responded to two structure fire incidents in support of the OCEM/American Red Cross team.

• Monitored and documented nine grass fires reported throughout Okmulgee County.

— Planning, Grants & Projects

• Conducted a uSAS drone mapping mission along Alder Road and 110 Road in support of the Unpaved Road Project Grant for District 2.

• Completed and submitted the Unpaved Road Grant Application for District 2.

• Completed rollout of SafetyPlus Edge to District 2, marking completion of deployment to all county highway districts.

• Completed required training with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Expanded Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) integration.

— Compliance & Reporting

• Completed and submitted a report to the Oklahoma Department of Labor addressing previous compliance violations stemming from site inspections. Awaiting final review and report on corrective actions taken.

— Weather & Situational Awareness

• All of Okmulgee County is currently classified under D1 – Moderate Drought conditions. Outdoor burning remains discouraged, and residents are urged to exercise extreme caution with any activity that may create sparks or ignite fires.

• Began monitoring the potential for winter weather impacts beginning Friday, Jan.
