CALENDAR OF EVENTS

January 21 KOC Bingo Night | Knights of Columbus Council 2394 will hold a Bingo Night Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1004 W. Gentry St. in Henryetta. Doors and concession stand will open at 6 p.m., with the first game starting at 7 p.m. Bring your family and friends – the more that play, the bigger the payout.

January 24 Calvary Baptist Men’s Breakfast | Calvary Baptist Church, located at 112 W. Gentry St. in Henryetta, will hold a Men’s Breakfast Saturday, Jan. 24, at 8:30 a.m. The event is an opportunity for men to gather, connect and encourage one another to lead well at home, in church and in the community.

January 26 Okmulgee Genealogical Society | The Okmulgee Genealogy Society will meet Monday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. on the second floor of the Okmulgee Public Library. The public is invited to stop by and see what they do; who knows, you may want to become a member. Annual dues are $20 for individuals, and additional members living at the same address can be added at $10 each.

January 27 & 29 GCTC Microsoft Word Course | Green Country Technology Center will hold a Microsoft Word – Level 1 course Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 27 and 29. The sixhour, $90 course will cover creating, formatting and setting up documents, along with working with tables and graphics – great for everyday business needs. January 31 Storm Spotter Training | OCEM will host Storm Spotter Training Saturday, Jan. 31, at 9 a.m. at GCTC, located at 1100 OK-56 Loop in Okmulgee. The free event will cover how to identify key features of severe storms.

February 3 & 5 GCTC Microsoft Excel Course | Green Country Technology Center will hold a Microsoft Excel – Level 1 course Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 3 and 5. The six-hour, $90 course is designed for those wanting a strong foundation in Excel, including basic calculations, formatting, saving, sharing and printing worksheets. February 19 OACL Pastor’s Luncheon | The next OACL Pastor’s Luncheon will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at 12 noon at the OSUIT Cowboy Café, hosted by Pastor Roxie Lilley of Acts Christian Temple.

Ongoing Events Brown Bean Luncheon | The Dunbar All School Alumni and New Salem Baptist Church will host a free brown bean luncheon each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The free event will take place at 420 E. 2nd Street in Okmulgee with the motto, “A Full Stomach Fills the Soul with Glee. This We Provide to All for Free!” For more information, contact Tamra Turner at 918-812-2041.

Line Dance Class | The public is invited to attend a free line dance class each Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Okmulgee Indian Community Center, 2900 N. Osage Place in Okmulgee. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced dancers.

VFW Post 1189 Meetings | VFW Post 1189 meets the third Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. at 1427 N. Okmulgee Ave. in Okmulgee. The Auxiliary also meets at 11 a.m. Other events include pool tournaments ($10 entry fee) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8 p.m.

Christian Motorcycle Association | The Christian Motorcycle Association meets the first Saturday of each month at noon at the OSUIT PSO Room, followed by a ride.

Okmulgee Headstart & Early Headstart Enrollment | Enrollment for Okmulgee Headstart and Early Headstart is currently underway for children ages 3-4 Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 4300 N. Wood Drive in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee County Republicans | The Okmulgee County Republicans meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Okmulgee American Legion Post 10, 730 W. 6th Street. The business meeting begins at 6 p.m. and the general meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact okmulgeecountygop@ gmail.com.

The Chosen at New Day Church | Starting Sunday, July 20, New Day Church will screen episodes of Season 5 of The Chosen series. All are welcome to attend the casual event, and are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring your own movie snacks. New Day Church is located at 711 N. Okmulgee Ave. in Okmulgee.

Henryetta Evening Artisan & Farmers Market | An Evening Artisan & Farmers Market will be held each Saturday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Henryetta Farmers Market Pavilion, 198 E. Lake Rd. next to the skate park. Shop fresh produce, handmade goods, baked treats, crafts and more – all from local growers and makers.

White Bison Recovery Group | White Bison Recovery Group meets each Thursday at 6 p.m. at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, located at 4th & Seminole in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee City-Wide Prayer Band Meeting | Okmulgee City-Wide Prayer Band meets each Thursday at 2 p.m. at Conversion Ministry Church, 1330 E. MLK Dr. in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee County Democrats | The Okmulgee County Democrats meet the third Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the OSUIT Student Union, 1801 E. 4th St. in Okmulgee.

New Day Church Game Night | New Day Church, 711 N. Okmulgee, will host a game night each Friday from 7-9:30 p.m. The church will provide table games for those interested in having fun. Game nights are open to the public, and participants are encouraged to bring snacks.

B.A.L.L. Group | The Be Active Live Longer Group of Okmulgee First Baptist Church meets the first Monday of each month at 11 a.m. Potluck lunch follows. 5th and Seminole.

Fostering Hope | Training Day for area foster/adoption parents will now take place the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Foursquare, 617 N. Oklahoma Ave. in Okmulgee. The connection meeting offers a shared meal, free childcare, CE’s and face-toface connections. RSVP at 918-815-2430.

Rotary Club | Okmulgee Rotary Club meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at First United Methodst Church from 12-1 p.m. A delicious lunch is provided
