A Henryetta man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 69 in Pittsburg County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:46 a.m. on Jan. 6 near mile marker 106 and was investigated by OHP Troop D.
According to the collision report, a northbound motorcycle, identified as Unit 1, was traveling at a speed greater than reasonable and proper when a second vehicle merged into the lane ahead of it. The motorcycle rider failed to observe the merging vehicle and struck the rear of Unit 2.
The driver of the motorcycle is a 19-yearold male from Henryetta. His name is being withheld pending notification. He sustained injuries in the collision. No passengers were on the motorcycle at the time of the crash, and seatbelts were not in use, according to the report.
Unit 2 was driven by Kyla E. Adams-Thorne, 38, of Eufaula. She was not injured in the collision. No passengers were in her vehicle, and seatbelts were reported to be in use. No fatalities were reported in the crash, and next of kin notification had not been made at the time of the report.
