Morris Public Schools will provide an opportunity for public review of its federal education programs during the district’s January Board of Education meeting, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Morris School Board of Education, located in the Morris New High School building. During the meeting, school officials will present information and invite discussion regarding several federally supported programs currently operating within the district. According to Morris Public Schools, the public review will include the district’s Title VI, Impact Aid, and Johnson-O’Malley (JOM) programs. These programs play a key role in supporting Native American students and ensuring compliance with federal education guidelines.
The meeting is open to all tribal leaders and parents of Native American students enrolled in Morris Public Schools. District officials plan to discuss the current status of the programs and outline desired directions for future development, which will be presented to the school board for consideration.
School leaders encourage community participation, noting that feedback from parents and tribal representatives is an important part of evaluating and strengthening educational services offered to students.
Morris Public Schools Board of Education will hold their business meeting following the presentation.
