Wilson splits results against Daniel Webster

The Wilson Tigers and Lady Tigers hit the road Tuesday night to face Daniel Webster, returning home with mixed results. The Lady Tigers rolled to a dominant win, while the Tigers battled through a tough matchup in a 65-48 loss.

— Shelburn’s big game not enough in 65-48 loss The Wilson Tigers found themselves playing catch-up early and were unable to overcome Daniel Webster’s fast scoring bursts, falling 65-48 despite a standout performance from Ke’shon Shelburn.

After opening with a two-point advantage, the Tigers were hit by a 12-1 Webster run that shifted momentum firmly in the Warriors’ favor. Still within reach at 12-9, Wilson watched Webster piece together another nine unanswered points, stretching the deficit and forcing the Tigers into a chase for the remainder of the night.

Wilson trailed 14-9 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime down 33-16. A stronger offensive push in the third helped close the gap to 50-33, but Webster maintained control throughout the fourth to secure the win.

Shelburn delivered a powerful offensive performance, leading all scorers with 27 points. He was highly efficient at the free-throw line, knocking down nine of his 12 attempts and staying aggressive in the lane. Defensively, he added three blocks, anchoring the Tigers’ interior play on both ends of the court.

Wilson’s ability to control the paint was a bright spot, as the team pulled down 27 rebounds. Andrew Wilson paced the group with 11 boards and added 2 points to the Tigers’ total.
