Under the direction of Coach Vaughn Blankenship, the Lady Demons faced fierce competition from start to finish, including a thrilling double-overtime victory and high-powered semifinal and final matchups.
The tournament opened Thursday with a dramatic double-overtime matchup against Hominy, a game that tested Beggs’ endurance and mental toughness. After four quarters, the teams were tied at 46, forcing the first overtime. Both squads matched each other point for point, pushing the game into a second extra period. The Lady Demons ultimately prevailed 55-54, highlighted by standout performances from Kamya Stallings and Emmabreath Triplett, who each scored 14 points, and Rylan Wesley and Padon Stallings, who added 11 apiece. Mylah Williams also contributed seven points, ensuring that Beggs could hold off Hominy in a back-andforth affair that had fans on the edge of their seats. The victory set an early tone for Beggs’ determination and depth across the roster.
Friday’s semifinal against Newkirk presented a different challenge, as the Lady Demons faced a consistent and disciplined opponent. Despite their efforts, Beggs struggled to keep pace with Newkirk’s scoring, falling 5129. Padon Stallings led the team with six points, followed closely by Abigail Harmon with five, Rylan Wesley with four and Kamya Stallings contributing three. Emmabreath Triplett added three points as well. While the Lady Demons could not advance to the championship game, their performance reflected moments of strong offensive execution and team coordination, keeping the game competitive in stretches.
Saturday’s third-place contest against Commerce offered a chance for redemption and a final showcase of Beggs’ capabilities. The Lady Demons scored early, with Kamya Stallings contributing four points in the first quarter and Emmabreath Triplett adding two. Commerce, however, quickly established a lead with 15 points in the opening frame, forcing Beggs to play catch-up throughout the game. The Lady Demons made repeated runs, highlighted by Triplett’s fivepoint third quarter and Padon Stallings’ two-point surge in the fourth, but Commerce’s consistency and scoring depth ultimately secured a 58–29 victory. Rylan Wesley and Mylah Williams added two points each, and Abigail Harmon contributed six to the final tally. Despite the loss, the game showcased Beggs’ ability to rally and compete against a top-tier opponent, with multiple players contributing on the scoreboard.
Across all three days, Beggs demonstrated balanced scoring and a willingness to fight for every point. The team’s roster featured multiple players consistently finding ways to contribute.
Emmabreath Triplett totaled 24 points across the tournament, Kamya Stallings scored 23, Padon Stallings added 22, Rylan Wesley contributed 17 and Abigail Harmon collected 11. Mylah Williams’ nine points rounded out a team effort that emphasized depth and shared responsibility.
