Wilson squads roll to dominant wins over Putnam Heights

The Wilson Tigers and Lady Tigers delivered a powerful home sweep last Friday night, overwhelming Putnam Heights Academy in two commanding victories that highlighted Wilson’s depth, energy and early-season momentum.

— Tigers top Putnam Heights, 86-57

The Wilson boys exploded out of the gate, grabbing a 19-10 lead after the opening quarter before stretching the margin to 35-19 by halftime. Crisp ball movement and balanced scoring kept the Tigers in control, while defensive pressure forced repeated Putnam Heights turnovers.

Putnam Heights briefly found its rhythm in the third quarter, putting up 21 points, but the Tigers countered with steady offense and closed the period ahead 54-40. Wilson then surged in the fourth, capping the night with an emphatic 86-57 victory.

Head Coach Grant Proctor guided the team to one of its sharpest performances thus far, supported by assistants Willie Huffman III, Johnny Dreyer and Matt LeGrand.

— Lady Tigers decimate Putnam Heights, 83-10 The Wilson Lady Tigers delivered a dominant showing from start to finish, opening the game with a 28-0 first quarter and extending the lead to 50-0 at halftime. Their defensive intensity smothered Putnam Heights for three straight quarters, while their offense clicked inside and out.

Wilson maintained a 60-0 lead entering the fourth before Putnam Heights broke through with late points. The Lady Tigers still closed with a commanding 83-10 victory, demonstrating depth across the roster and impressive execution on both ends of the floor.

-With strong early-season chemistry and contributions coming from every corner of both rosters, Wilson carries significant momentum into the weeks ahead as they prepare for the Wilson Classic on tap from Dec. 11-13.
