Lady Knights defeat Preston

The Henryetta Lady Knights used a dominant fourth quarter and a strong rebounding performance to put away the Preston Lady Pirates 51-39 last Friday night, closing out a physical and momentum-shifting matchup between two county rivals. Henryetta stormed out to a 16-5 lead in the opening quarter, attacking the rim and forcing turnovers that led to early points. Preston responded in the second period, heating up from the perimeter behind sharpshooting from Mackenzie Trotter and Kynlee Martin. The Lady Pirates outscored Henryetta 21-8 in the second quarter to take a 26-24 lead at the break.

The teams traded baskets throughout the third period, with Henryetta narrowly trimming the deficit to trail 37-36 entering the final quarter. That’s when everything changed.

Henryetta locked in defensively in the final eight minutes, limiting Preston to just two points in the entire quarter. The Lady Knights controlled the tempo, attacked the basket, and repeatedly earned trips to the free-throw line, turning a tight deficit into a double-digit win.
