• The Culinary Arts program students at OSU Institute of Technology dedicated three days to constructing their annual gingerbread display: a tropical-style surf shack. The creation, which stood over five feet tall, was made with 125 pounds of gingerbread and featured decorations like chocolate surfboards, a shark’s jaw and banana-leaf
exhibited in the Culinary Arts building lobby during the entire winter break.
• The 2015 season for the Okmulgee Junior Football Association concluded with a celebratory banquet held at the Middle School cafeteria. The event honored third through sixth-grade players, recognizing their achievements with various awards. Top honors included Offensive and Defensive MVPs, Newcomer awards and special recognitions such as the Press Box Award and the Buddy Brick Heisman. Among the highlights was London Bruner’s impressive performance, securing multiple third-grade titles. Standout sixth graders, including Javonte Haygood, Brendan McCall and Wyatt Nail, also earned top recognition, underscoring the community’s pride in Okmulgee’s youth football program.
