VFW Post 539 to hold Feed the Vets event Dec. 4

The holiday season is bringing community spirit to the forefront as VFW Post 539 and its Auxiliary prepare to host two special events in early December – one to honor local veterans and another to bring Christmas joy to area children.

The annual VFW Post 539 “Feed the Vets” Program will take place Thursday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at New Life Church in Henryetta.

Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at 10 a.m. to help divide the food for distribution to military veterans and their dependents. Community members interested in volunteering or participating are asked to contact VFW/DAV Veteran Service Officer Tricia Bear at 479-414– —0952 or Leah Thompson at 205505-5519 with any questions regarding the program.

For those wishing to be added to the Feed the Vets call or text list, or if phone numbers have changed, participants should text their name along with cell and home phone numbers to either Tricia Bear or Leah Thompson.
