GCTC to host Christmas Hair Show Dec. 5

Green Country Technology Center (GCTC) is proud to announce the return of one of its most anticipated traditions: the Annual Cosmetology Christmas Hair Show, taking place Friday, Dec. 5, with showings at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. inside the GCTC Seminar Center. This year’s theme, “A Very Pastel Christmas: Candy Couture Edition,” transforms the stage into a soft-hued holiday dreamland inspired by whimsical sweets, fantasy fashion and the creative imagination of GCTC’s talented cosmetology students.

This highly anticipated event is open to the public and offers free admission, providing the community an opportunity to experience firsthand the skill, artistry and dedication of GCTC’s students. The Pastel Christmas Hair Show will showcase an impressive range of cosmetology techniques – from advanced everything but hair-hairstyling and color theory to theatrical makeup, fantasy nails and full character design – demonstrating the professional-level training students receive in the program.

Visitors can expect a bright, candy-colored winter wonderland brought to life through imaginative hair creations, handcrafted costumes and polished stage presentations. Each student team designs a complete look based on the pastel holiday theme, blending classroom learning with creativity, teamwork and performance. The end result, an unforgettable display of skill development that mirrors real-world expectations in the beauty and fashion industries.

“Our annual Christmas Hair Show is more than just a fun tradition – it’s a live showcase of the hard work and talent our students develop throughout the year,” said GCTC Marketing and Communication Coordinator, Anthony Nieto. “The public will see what our students are capable of, and our students get the confidence and hands-on experience that will carry them into their careers. It’s a celebration of skill, creativity and holiday spirit.”

GCTC’s Cosmetology Program continues to be a popular offering, preparing students for a wide range of beauty-industry careers including hairstylist, color specialist, makeup artist, nail technician, salon manager and more. Through handson instruction, real-client experience and events like the Christmas Hair Show, students gain both technical abilities and opportunities to showcase their artistic voice.

Community members, families, business owners and anyone interested in supporting local students are invited to attend. Whether you’re a longtime supporter of the program or experiencing the Christmas Hair Show for the first time, this year’s pastel theme promises a uniquely magical twist on a GCTC holiday tradition.
