The Prairie Bell Home & Community Education members recently awarded a $400 scholarship to Madelyn Amador. Madelyn is the daughter of Justin and Sarah Amador.
Madelyn is currently attending Green Country Technology Center in the Practical Nursing program. She is working toward her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license and intends to continue her education to become a Registered Nurse (RN) and possibly pursue further specialization in the future.
Madelyn is a member of the Technology Honor Society and the Health Occupations Students of America program. She has been a class officer, received student of the month and participated in several service projects through the program. Madelyn placed 5th internationally in nutrition testing through HOSA.
Madelyn participated in the 4-H program for nine years. She served as local and county president, took part in the county fair activities, attended Round-Up in Stillwater and won the district speech contest with her sister. She placed first at the state level with her record book on water conservation winning a $1200 scholarship. Madelyn is a member of the 4-H Key Club which is an honorary sorority for top 4-H members who have shown outstanding leadership, loyalty and responsibility.
A part of the proceeds from the Prairie Bell Craft Show, which will be held this Saturday, Nov. 22, in the Morris High School gym, are used to provide this scholarship.
