The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced Vincent Jerome May, age 37, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 120 months in prison for one count of Robbery in Indian Country, 120 months in prison for one count of Interstate Transportation of Stolen Vehicle, and 60 months in prison for one count of Assault Resulting in Substantial Bodily Injury to a Spouse, Intimate Partner and Dating Partner in Indian Country. The terms were ordered to be served concurrently.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Okmulgee Police Department, the Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police Department and the Denver (Colorado) Police Department.

On March 20, 2025, May pleaded guilty to the charges. According to investigators, on March 4, 2023, May violently assaulted a woman while she held an infant child, threatened to burn down her home and kill her, and stole her phone and keys to her pickup truck. May drove the truck to Colorado and damaged it.

The crimes occurred in Okmulgee County, within the boundaries of the Muscogee Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

May will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
