Helen Joyce Howard Knott, age 79, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 6, 2025, with family at her side.
Helen was born in Okmulgee to Earl Howard and Opal (McCollom) Howard on July 10, 1946. She graduated from Morris High School in May 1965. She married Ray Turner shortly after graduation. The couple had two children, Kevin and Sheila. They divorced in 1985.
Helen married Gary Knott on April 4, 1998, at Grandview United Methodist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. The couple lived and worked in Wichita, Kansas. They attended Arkansas Valley Christian Church. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norma Jane Anderson and her son Howard Kevin Turner.
Helen is survived by her husband, Gary Knott; daughter, Sheila Riedl and spouse Kyle; granddaughter, Shawana Turner; grandson Dustin Riedl and spouse Angela; granddaughter Allison Heiden and spouse Tanner; great grandchildren, July 10, 1946 – November 6, 2025
Mahayla Riedl, Titus, Rylen and Kilah Heiden. Other survivors include her sisters, Martha Jo Anderson and Donna Jean Barrett, and several nieces and nephews.
Helen enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. She enjoyed working puzzles and traveling with family. She cherished motorcycle rides on a warm day. She was an artist who made wood burning and painting decorations. Spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do.
Family will have a private burial service at a later date at Morris Cemetery in Morris.
