The Beggs First United Methodist Church has announced its Emergency Food Pantry and Community Closet/Thrift Store will be open the first and third Saturdays in December (Dec. 6 and Dec. 20). They will resume normal operations in January, opening the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
Beggs FUMC has been serving the Beggs community for 22 months, hoping to celebrate a two-year anniversary in January. Their mission is to provide food and clothing for those in need in the community.
As of August 2025, the Beggs FUMC food pantry is a Feeding Partner with the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, allowing them access to food at reduced and occasionally no cost, depending on availability.
All food distribution from the pantry is 100% donation driven. Sources of donation include:
• Monetary gifts and/or food donations from members of the congregation and local community
• Retail Rescue donations through Feeding America, in connection with Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma
• Donations to the thrift store are sold for small donation fees, funding the bulk of food purchases Clothing and household donations help feed people in the community – thank you for your support.
