Sharon Kay Brannon
Obituaries

Sharon Kay Brannon

Longtime Okmulgee resident Sharon Kay Brannon passed away on November 6, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born on February 9, 1952, to Raymond and Ruth Ann (Coenen) Smith.

Sharon graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1970. On March 15, 1975, she married Mike Brannon, and together they had two children. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Sharon worked parttime at the OSU-IT Federal Credit Union for 30 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of the Prairie Bell Extension Homemakers Club, where she shared her love of cooking – especially her delicious pies. Sharon was also a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church of Morris, where she served faithfully on the kitchen committee and helped with the church’s sports breakfast program for many years.

She enjoyed hunting, especially for deer, and loved to fish. Above February 9, 1952 – November 6, 2025

all, Sharon found joy in making her house a home for the family she loved most.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Cecil Coenen; and her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Mary Szalankiewicz.

She is survived by her husband Mike; daughter Lori Amos and husband J.R. of Tecumseh; son Kyle Brannon and wife Stacy of Mounds; brother Robert Smith and wife Kathy of Yukon; grandchildren Michael Baugh, Cody Ary, Bae Brannon and Kai Brannon; great-grandchildren Sophie Ary and Colton Ary; and nephew Jerrod Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, with Rev. Kendell L. Hamilton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International in Sharon’s memory at gideons.org.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Sharon’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon-winters. com.
