The Prairie Bell Home & Community Education members awarded a $400 scholarship to 2025 Morris graduate Jace Allen. Jace is the son of Anita Allen and is currently attending Green Country Vo-Tech, studying computer programming and game design.
While in high school, Jace was very active with the Pride of Morris High School Band. He learned to play four instruments and participated in competitions with both the concert and marching bands.
Jace also enjoyed being a member of the Morris Boy Scouts Troop. He progressed from being a Cub Scout to achieving his Eagle Scout Award by earning 40 badges and completing an Eagle Scout project that involved helping the Rowan Foundation, which assists foster kids and families. Jace is also a member of the Order of the Arrow, the Honor Society of Scouting. He was chosen to attend the National Convention of the Order of the Arrow and spent a week in Boulder, Colo. learning new leadership skills.
A part of the proceeds from the Prairie Bell Christmas Bazaar & Craft Show, which will be held this year on Nov. 22 in the Morris High School gym, are used to provide this scholarship.
