— Monster Treats
40 large marshmallows 2 Tbsps. unsalted butter 6 cups rice cereal Food coloring of choice Premade frosting Lightly spray 9×13” baking dish with cooking spray or butter pan. Melt butter and marshmallows in large sauce pan stirring constantly. Add food coloring of choice a few drops at a time and stirring after each addition until desired color is obtained. I went with orange because I wasn’t real sure what I wanted to do while I was making them. Add cereal and mix well to combine. Using a buttered rubber spatula, press mixture into prepared pan. Allow to set and cut into rectangles. Decorate as desired using premade frosting colored as desired. I went with green for a monster and white for a ghost.
Note: If you want to shape your treats, adding 10 or so extra marshmallows will keep the treats soft enough to form with your fingers for something like pumpkins.
— Cake Shots
1 white cake mix of choice Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix package 9oz orange Jell-O 3 cups boiling water ¾ cup cold water ½ cup plus 1 Tbsp. Triple Sec 3 Tbsps. vanilla vodka Whipped topping Sprinkles, if desired Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 9×13” baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. In large mixing bowl, prepare cake as directed on box. (If you want a cake that tastes more homemade, replace water with milk.) Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 7 minutes. Poke holes in cake with straw or large fork about ½ inch apart. Place gelatin in medium bowl and add boiling water. Stir 2 minutes or until completely dissolved. Stir in ¾ cup water, Triple Sec and vanilla vodka until well blended. Pour 1-1.5 cups gelatin mixture over cake allowing it to soak into holes. Refrigerate at least 3 hours. Pour remaining gelatin mixture into individual dessert dishes or glasses, filling each one partially. Leave room to fill with cake and topping. Refrigerate until set. Cut cake pieces small enough to fit in dished on top of set gelatin. I cut squares, but you could also use a round cookie cutter to cut rounds. Place cake on top of gelatin in dishes. Press if needed until cake sets on gelatin. Refrigerate if not ready to serve. Top with whipped topping and sprinkles just before serving.
Note: I used Lime Jell-O with Lime Vodka for the green ones. All other instructions the same. I used a 9×13” baking dish but spread each flavor gelatin over only half the cake.
— Halloween Pancakes
Just look at that photo! So fun! 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour ¼ cup sugar 2 tsps. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda ¼ tsp. salt 1 large egg 1 ¼ cup buttermilk or milk ¼ cup oil 3 or 4 food coloring choices – I used orange, purple, green and black.
Candy eyes In large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In medium bowl whisk together egg, milk and oil. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk together until just combined. Do not over mix. Preheat griddle or large skillet. Divide pancake batter into three or four bowls. Use food coloring to color batter black, purple, green and orange. Pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake onto hot ungreased griddle or skillet and cook until bubbles form on to, about 1-2 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes or until cooked through. Repeat steps until all batter is cooked. Stack pancakes in threes or fours with one of each color, and top with candy eyes! Top with syrup if desired before serving.
Note: You can easily use a premade pancake batter instead of making from scratch if you want. Also, this makes about 8 medium pancakes. Feel free to double the batch if needed.

Melted Witch Hot Cocoa
3 cups whole milk 2 tsps. pure vanilla extract 8oz white chocolate 1 cup heavy cream Green food coloring Add milk, heavy cream, vanilla and white chocolate to medium saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Heat until white chocolate is melted and mixture starts to simmer. Do not let it burn or boil! Stir in a drop or two of green food coloring at a time until it is as green as you like. Pour hot chocolate into mugs.
Note: The original recipe called for green whipped cream. I don’t usually do whip on my cocoa so I left it off. If you want whip, mix 1 cup heavy cream and 1 tablespoon sugar on high until stiff peaks form. Add 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract and green food coloring and mix well. Add dollop to top of cocoa.
