OSSAA Game Day Regional set Nov. 8

The excitement of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) Game Day season returns this fall as cheer and pom squads across the state prepare to compete at the 2025 Regional Game Day Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8. Four host sites will feature teams from every classification, with several Okmulgee County schools among those taking the floor in hopes of qualifying for the state competition.

This year’s regional events will be held at four high schools across Oklahoma: • Stroud High School – Class 3A & Class 5A Cheer

• Crossings Christian School (Oklahoma City) – Class 4A Cheer & Small Pom

• Moore High School – Class 2A Cheer & Large Pom

• Edmond North High School Class 6A Cheer Competitions begin at 9:30 a.m. at each regional site, with performance schedules extending through the afternoon for pom divisions.

— Okmulgee County Participants & Competition Times Okmulgee County will be well represented in this year’s Game Day Regional lineups:

Henryetta High School

• Classification: 3A Cheer

• Regional Site: Stroud High School

• Performance Time: 9:45 a.m. Henryetta’s squad will perform early in the 3A bracket, following Westville and preceding Dibble in the morning lineup.

— Beggs High School

• Classification: 3A Cheer

• Regional Site: Stroud High School

• Performance Time: 10:15 a.m. The Beggs Golden Demon cheerleaders will perform mid-morning, competing among schools such as Lexington, Lincoln Christian and KIPP Tulsa.

— Morris High School

• Classification: 3A Cheer

• Regional Site: Stroud High School

• Performance Time: 10:45 a.m. Morris will perform late morning, rounding out the first session before the scheduled break.

— Wilson High School

• Classification: 2A Cheer

• Regional Site: Moore High School

• Performance Time: 2:05 p.m. The Wilson Tigers will take the floor in the afternoon session, competing among a packed 2A division featuring over 40 teams statewide.

— Advancement & State Finals

The top-performing teams from each regional site will move on to the OSSAA State Game Day Championship, hosted by Union High School in Tulsa on Nov. 14-15.

• Friday, Nov. 14: Small Pom (9 a.m.), Large Pom (11:20 a.m.) and Class 6A (1:45 p.m.)

• Saturday, Nov. 15: Class 2A (9 a.m.), Class 3A (11:40 a.m.), Unified (2 p.m.), Class 4A (3:10 p.m.) and Class 5A (5:50 p.m.)

— How to Attend

Tickets for the regional Game Day events are available online through OSSAA.com.

• Online tickets: $7 for students and adults

• At-door cash tickets: $10 Only OSSAA Playoff or Media Passes will be accepted at entry; all others must purchase admission.

For the State Championship at Union High School, tickets will go on sale Nov. 10, priced at $10 online or $13 cash at the gate.

Each Game Day performance will consist of four key elements – Cheer, Band Dance, Situational Response and Fight Song for cheer squads; and Band Chant, Situational Response, Dance and Fight Song for pom teams.

Each team’s total score will determine advancement, with the top 15 scores in Classes 2A-5A and the top 10 scores in Pom and 6A divisions advancing to the State Championship.

Okmulgee County residents are encouraged to show their school spirit by attending or streaming the competitions online. Fans can follow results and updates via the OSSAA Spirit Page at www.OSSAA.com.
