The Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police Department announced a Tactical Medicine Training will be held Friday and Saturday at the former East Side Elementary building, 1614 E. 9th Street in Okmulgee.
The department is notifying residents that during the training, there will be a noticeable presence of law enforcement officers, medical personnel and emergency vehicles in the area. Officials emphasized that there is no cause for concern, as this is strictly a training exercise designed to enhance emergency preparedness.
“These realistic training scenarios help our officers and partner agencies enhance response, coordination and life-saving skills for real-world emergencies,” the department stated in its announcement.
The Lighthorse Police Department extended its gratitude to the public for their understanding and cooperation, adding that such exercises are vital for strengthening safety measures and improving readiness across agencies.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we continue working to keep our citizens and communities safe,” the statement concluded.
Residents are encouraged to remain mindful of the training activity throughout the weekend and to avoid unnecessary travel through the area while the exercises are underway.
