Residents are invited to come together for an open community conversation about the future of Red Francis Park on Monday, Oct. 27, from 5-7 p.m. The event, titled “Reimagine Red Francis Park,” will take place at the park located at the corner of 7th and Woodlawn in Okmulgee.
The discussion is being hosted by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) College Heights Choice Neighborhood Team, which is seeking public input on ways to enhance and reimagine the historic neighborhood park. Organizers say the event will be informal, interactive and fun for all ages with food, drinks and activities provided for participants.
The goal of the “Re- imagine” project is to bring together community voices to brainstorm ideas that will help shape the park’s next chapter. Possible discussion topics include recreation improvements, beautification projects, safety features and creative community uses of the space.
“This is an opportunity for local residents to share their ideas and priorities directly with the team working on improving the park,” organizers noted. “Community feedback is at the heart of this effort.”
