Tigers shut out Arkoma in Homecoming Night win

Tigers shut out Arkoma in Homecoming Night win

The Wilson Tigers gave their fans plenty to cheer about last Friday, cruising to a commanding 46-0 shutout victory over the Arkoma Mustangs in their Homecoming matchup. The win marked the Tigers’ most dominant performance of the season and extended their winning streak to two games, improving their overall record to 3-2.

The Tigers’ offensive unit was firing on all cylinders, continuing a recent trend of high-scoring play-averaging 55 points over their last two games. Equally impressive was the defense, which held Arkoma completely scoreless, showcasing the kind of energy and discipline that’s becoming this young team’s trade- mark.

Wilson will look to keep that momentum rolling this Thursday night when they host the Gans Grizzlies at 7 p.m. The timing couldn’t be better for the Tigers, as Gans enters the matchup on a three-game losing streak following a 58-8 loss to Copan. Wilson meanwhile, has scored 31 or more points in each of its last three games, making them the clear favorites heading into the home stretch of the regular season.
