CALENDAR OF EVENTS

October 24 Twin Hills Fall Carnival | Twin Hills Public School will host its annual Fall Carnival Friday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. Children’s games will run from 5-6:15 p.m., with $10 wristbands covering a treat bag and unlimited play. A cakewalk will begin at 5:30 p.m. ($3 per walk), followed by the Silent Auction, which ends at 6:30 p.m. Bingo kicks off at approximately 6:45 p.m. ($5 per card) and continues until all prizes are claimed. Concessions will be available, including pulled pork sandwiches, loaded baked potatoes, nachos, Frito pie, hot dogs, popcorn, candy and cinnamon rolls.

October 25 Landmark Open House & Homecoming | Landmark for All Generations will host a special gathering Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the former Black Hospital, located at the corner of 3rd Street and Wood Dive. Share memories and celebrate those who helped the community, and look forward to what’s to come in the future.

Greater Jones Hallelujah Party | Greater Jones Chapel A.M.E. Zion will host its Hallelujah Party 2025 Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the church, located at 1226 E. Smith St. in Okmulgee. The free event will feature Bible Bingo, a cake walk, bowling, cornhole and musical chairs. Plenty of refreshments will also be available, such as pizza, chips and dip, popcorn, desserts, drinks and candy bags for all participants.

October 26 St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Fall Festival | St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church will hold a free Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1001 E. Chicago Ave. in Okmulgee. A parking lot worship will take place at 10 a.m., followed by festival fun from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring food, music, games and more in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere to celebrate the season. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and join in the fellowship.

VFW Breakfast | VFW Post 1189 will hold its next breakfast Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Morris Assembly of God Fall Carnival | Morris Assembly of God, 206 N. Hughes Ave., will host its Fall Carnival Sunday, Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m. The free family event will feature a cake walk, hay ride, concessions, games, a bounce house, obstacle course, face painting and more.

October 27 Genealogical Society | The Okmulgee County Genealogical Society will meet Monday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Okmulgee Public Library. Please join in person or via Zoom. Visit www.okmcgs.com for more information.

November 15 VFW Post 1189 Meeting | VFW Post 1189 will meet Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m.

November 19 KOC Bingo | Knights of Columbus Bingo will take place Wednesday, Nov. 19. The Blackout winner will receive a financial prize and a turkey.

November 29 Cookie Crawl | The Okmulgee Times will once again host the annual Cookie Crawl, in association with Shop Small Saturday, on Saturday, Nov. 29, beginning at 10 a.m. Local businesses will participate in this fun, community-driven shopping event featuring sweet treats, giveaways and holiday cheer. Ongoing Events

FUMC UMM Bean Dinner | First United Methodist Church of Okmulgee will host its annual UMM Bean Dinners each Tuesday through October at the Rowe Center, 302 S. Seminole Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Meals cost $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. The dinners will include a bowl of beans, cornbread, coleslaw, dessert and a drink. Topsy Turvey | Topsy Turvey at First United Methodist Church is held the second Tuesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. at the Rowe Family Life Center, 8th St. & Okmulgee Ave. in Okmulgee. The program is aimed at creating an inclusive, multi-generational worship experience for people of all ages, backgrounds and stages of their faith journey. Christian Motorcycle Association | The Christian Motorcycle Association meets the first Saturday of each month at noon at the OSUIT PSO Room, followed by a ride.

Okmulgee Headstart & Early Headstart Enrollment | Enrollment for Okmulgee Headstart and Early Headstart is currently underway for children ages 3-4 Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 4300 N. Wood Drive in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee County Republicans | The Okmulgee County Republicans meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Okmulgee American Legion Post 10, 730 W. 6th Street. The business meeting begins at 6 p.m. and the general meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact okmulgeecountygop@ gmail.com.

The Chosen at New Day Church | Starting Sunday, July 20, New Day Church will screen episodes of Season 5 of The Chosen series. All are welcome to attend the casual event, and are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring your own movie snacks. New Day Church is located at 711 N. Okmulgee Ave. in Okmulgee.

Henryetta Evening Artisan & Farmers Market | An Evening Artisan & Farmers Market will be held each Saturday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Henryetta Farmers Market Pavilion, 198 E. Lake Rd. next to the skate park. Shop fresh produce, handmade goods, baked treats, crafts and more – all from local growers and makers.

White Bison Recovery Group | White Bison Recovery Group meets each Thursday at 6 p.m. at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, located at 4th & Seminole in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee City-Wide Prayer Band Meeting |

Okmulgee City-Wide Prayer Band meets each Thursday at 2 p.m. at Conversion Ministry Church, 1330 E. MLK Dr. in Okmulgee.

Okmulgee County Democrats

| The Okmulgee County Democrats meet the third Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the OSUIT Student Union, 1801 E. 4th St. in Okmulgee.
