The Okmulgee School board will meet in regular session on Tuesday, Oct. 14, to discuss several matters, including calling an election for a board post, and allowing public comment during their meetings.
Items on the agenda include:
• Superintendent’s Report: Ken Grover, school improvement specialist – Consideration and action granting Math and/or Science credits to students successfully completing academic programs through Green Country Technology Center for School Year 2025-2026.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of a resolution called for a Board of Education General Election for Seat #1 to be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with a Primary Election (if needed) on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding employing Support Staff for the 2025-2026 school year.
• Amber Gryder – Tier II Paraprofessional (Primary)
• Lindzy Gant – Teacher Assistant (Primary) – Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of agreement with Standley Systems for printer/copier services.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of agreement with Gen II Fire Protection for Fire Alarm Monitoring on all district fire panels.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of updated board policy number 4045: Student Self-Administration of Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and Cystic Fibrosis Medication and Stocking of Epinephrine and Inhalers.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of updated board policy number 4002.1: Transfer of Student-Non-Resident-Military.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding approval of updated board policy number 1002.1: Equal Opportunity Non Discrimination Policy.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding early graduation request from students Alyssa Maxey-Hoyle and Lily Voss.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding school use of the Roundup Application.
– Discussion, consideration and possible action regarding allowing public comment as a communication tool for school board meetings to facilitate public input, promote transparency and improve community engagement.
