Dewar runners shine at Lexington Invitational

The Dewar Dragons cross country teams turned in a strong overall performance at the 8th Annual Lexington Bulldog Invitational on Oct. 2, with several athletes earning top finishes and personal records across divisions.

— Junior High Results

In the Junior High Girls 1.5-mile, Harper Brooksher captured an impressive 3rd place finish out of 107 runners with a time of 12:14, earning a podium medal. Teammate Emma Sample followed with a solid effort, placing 46th at 15:42.

For the Junior High Boys 2-mile, Tucker Brooksher led the Dragons with a 38th-place finish in 14:42, while Asher Brooksher clocked 15:59 for 64th, both displaying grit against a competitive field of 112 runners.

— High School Results

The Lady Dragons continued their momentum, placing seventh as a team in the 2-mile varsity race. Adena Fowler led the way, taking 15th place in 15:17, followed by Adelynn Del- so, who ran a personal record of 18:10 for 45th. Rounding out the group were Paidan Farrow (52nd, 19:03), Elainna Delacal (65th, 20:44) and Jessica Lee (70th, 22:42).

In the High School Boys 5K, Parks Coble impressed with an 18th-place finish in 20:01, while Remy Martin followed close behind in 25th at 20:25. Vinton Goff capped off the Dewar scoring effort with a time of 23:29, placing 63rd out of 126 runners.

— Dragon Run 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

As a reminder, the Dewar Dragon Cross Country team also invites the community to lace up their running shoes for a great cause at the upcoming Dragon Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Nichols Park in Henryetta.

Participants can choose between a challenging 5K run or a more leisurely 1-mile fun run/walk, making it an event for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. All proceeds will directly support the Dewar Cross Country program.

Registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1-mile event. Registration forms can be picked up or dropped off at Dewar High School or with any Dewar cross country runner. For more information, contact Ana Berry at 918-319-0425.

This fundraiser offers a great opportunity to stay active, enjoy the outdoors and help support local student-athletes in their running pursuits.
