Beggs closes season with grit, heart
By TIFFANY BELL SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

The Beggs Lady Demons wrapped up their season last week, battling hard through a tough regional slate that showcased their determination, teamwork and never-quit attitude. Despite facing powerful lineups from both Valliant and Dewey, the Lady Demons continued to display the fight and composure that defined their season.

— Beggs battles early against Valliant In their matchup against the Valliant Lady Dawgs, Beggs struck first, putting pressure on the dawgs early. Destiny Chisum sparked the offense in the first inning with an RBI single that gave the Lady Demons an early 1-0 lead.

Valliant responded with a strong first inning of their own, but Beggs never backed down. Willow Herod, Abigail Harmon and Chisum all delivered at the plate, each collecting multiple hits. Harmon led the team with two RBIs, continuing to be a steady offensive presence for Beggs.

In the circle, Taytum Mills provided stability and grit, pitching over five innings in relief while striking out two and keeping Beggs in the game. Despite Valliant’s power at the plate, the Lady Demons made key defensive plays to limit damage and keep energy high in the dugout.

The 11-3 final score didn’t fully reflect the fight Beggs showed – each atbat was a test of patience and heart as the Lady Demons continued to battle through every inning, refusing to give in.

— Trimble, Tenison shine in finale The final game of the season against the Dewey Lady Bulldoggers saw the Demons once again display defensive toughness and effort. Though Dewey jumped ahead early, Emma Trimble and Ruby Tenison gave Beggs fans plenty to cheer about.

Trimble had a stellar day at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 and leading the team in hits. Tenison delivered Beggs’ lone RBI, driving in Trimble to get the Lady Demons on the board. In the field, Beggs stayed sharp and turned a clean double play, showcasing the defensive fundamentals that have been a cornerstone of their growth all season.

While the score ended 14-1, the Lady Demons’ composure never wavered. Every player continued to encourage one another, reflecting the unity and bond that this group has built throughout the year.

— A Season of Growth & Grit

Though the postseason didn’t fall in Beggs’ favor, this team’s story goes beyond the win-loss column. From early-season rallies to late-game defensive stands, the Lady Demons grew stronger with each outing. Underclassmen gained valuable experience, while seniors set the tone with leadership, work ethic and heart.

The season closes with the Lady Demons standing tall – battle-tested, bonded and proud. Their resilience on and off the field sets the foundation for an even brighter future for Beggs softball.
