Despite outhitting their opponent 8-3, the Wilson Lady Tigers came up just short in a 3-2 pitchers’ duel Tuesday against the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats.
Jamie Proctor’s RBI double opened the scoring in the top of the first. Earlsboro quickly responded with two runs in the bottom half on a triple from Peighton W. and a passed ball.
In the sixth inning, Jaslene Proctor crushed a solo home run to center, bringing Wilson within one.
Jaslene Proctor also started the game in the circle, tossing two innings and allowing two unearned runs. K. Currin came on in relief, giving up just one unearned run in four innings.
Offensively, Jamie and Jaslene Proctor and K. Sanders all had two hits. Both Proctors drove in runs.
Earlsboro made the most of their three hits and turned two key double plays to thwart scoring threats. Their starter, Abby, struck out four and walked none in the complete game.
