The Morris Lady Eagles wasted no time putting away the Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, scoring 10 runs in the first inning en route to a commanding 17-0 victory in just three innings.
The first-inning outburst included RBI hits from Chyla Marris, Katelyn Sparkman and Reese Ellis, plus a hitby- pitch RBI for Brooklyn Wright. The second inning added seven more runs on RBIs by Rhylee Rock, Ellis and Marris, who ended the game 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Brooke Thomas earned the win with one shutout inning, and Ellis pitched two more shutout innings in relief, combining for a two-hit shutout with three total strikeouts.
Offensively, Marris, Sparkman, and Ellis led the team with two hits apiece. The Lady Eagles drew eight walks overall, three by Thomas, adding to their on-base dominance.
For Okmulgee, J Dean and K Proctor each had one hit. Proctor also took the loss in the circle, allowing 10 runs on four hits in the opening inning.
