Preston Drama set to shine at state competition
By Patrick Ford Editor

The Preston High School Drama Department is set to make a mark once again at this year’s State 1-Act Play Competition. Under the talented direction of Devin Doupe, the students will perform “A Night Under the Stars” by Tracy Wells, a captivating production that promises a night of storytelling, laughter and heartfelt moments.

Set around the warm glow of a campfire, the play explores a variety of stories and interactions among its characters, highlighting the dynamics of friendship, adventure and the human experience. Audience members can expect an engaging blend of humor and emotion as the Preston Drama students bring the script to life on stage.

Performances will be held at the historic Orpheum Theatre on Oct. 3-4, with an additional matinee on Oct. 5. The community is encouraged to attend, support the students and experience firsthand the dedication and talent of Preston’s young performers.

This annual state competition provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills, creativity, and passion for the performing arts. For many, it is not only a chance to compete but also a celebration of the hard work and collaboration that go into every performance.

Don’t miss your chance to enjoy an evening of entertainment and support the future stars of Preston High School Drama.
