October 3 Uganda Martyrs Bean

at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, 3rd & Choctaw in Okmulgee, on Friday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The meal will include a bountiful serving of ham n’ beans, coleslaw, cornbread and dessert for a donation of $10. Meals are dine-in or carryout – your choice – and delivery for orders of five or more will be available. The Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce will host a Legislative Forum Recap Friday, Oct. 3, at 8:30 a.m. at the Mabrey Bank meeting room.

October 4 Food Sale & Bingo Fundraiser | A food sale and bingo fundraiser is planned for Saturday, Oct. 4, to aid with medical supplies for Leslie Powell. The event will take place at Dunbar Learning Center, 420 E. 2nd St. in Okmulgee, at 12 p.m., with bingo to follow at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Betty Harjo at 539-252-622 or Leslie Powell at 918-3040004. Natura Baptist Rummage Event | Natura Baptist Church, 7995 N. 250 Rd. & Hwy 16 in Beggs, will hold a rummage event Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature lots of clothes and home goods, all of which are free, and lunch will be served at around noon.

October 7 FUMC UMM Bean Dinner | First United Methodist Church of Okmulgee will host its annual UMM Bean Dinners each Tuesday through October at the Rowe Center, 302 S. Seminole Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Meals cost $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. The dinners will include a bowl of beans, cornbread, coleslaw, dessert and a drink. October 10-11 Pecan Festival | The Okmulgee Pecan Festival returns Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10-11, in downtown Okmulgee and the Muscogee Nation Omniplex, featuring two days of vendors, contests, live music and community fun.

October 11-12 VFW Post 1189 Auxiliary Meeting & Breakfast Brunch | VFW Post 1189 Auxiliary will hold its next meeting Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. A $7 breakfast brunch will also be held Sunday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

October 15 KOC Bingo | Knights of Columbus Council 2394 will hold a Bingo Night Wednesday, Oct. 15, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1004 W. Gentry St. in Henryetta. Doors and concession stand will open at 6 p.m., with the first game starting at 7 p.m. Bring your family and friends – the more that play, the bigger the payout!

October 18 Harvest Spoon Chili Festival | Okmulgee Main Street’s annual Harvest Spoon Chili Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the Square in downtown Okmulgee.

Christian Motorcycle Association | The Christian Motorcycle Association meets the first Saturday of each month at noon at the OSUIT PSO Room, followed by a ride.

Topsy Turvey Gathering | A Topsy Turvey Gathering is held the second Wednesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. for kids of all ages, 1-100. The event features free games, food, crafts, fellowship storytelling and laughter. The gathering begins Sept. 10 at First United Methodist Church, 302 S. Seminole Ave.

Okmulgee Headstart & Early Headstart Enrollment | Enrollment for Okmulgee Headstart and Early Headstart is currently underway for children ages 3-4 Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 4300 N. Wood Drive in Okmulgee.
