The Henryetta Lady Knights fell in dramatic fashion on Thursday as Lexington walked them off 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh.
Despite out-hitting the Lady Bulldogs 10-5, Henryetta couldn’t hold on after a late rally tied the game in the sixth. With two outs and the winning run on third, Lexington’s MacKenzie Manuel delivered the game-winning single.
Keegan Hamric had the highlight of the game with a towering grand slam to center in the third inning that gave the Lady Knights a brief 4-3 lead. She also struck out two in the circle in her early relief work.
Serenity Rex led the Knights with a 3-for-4 day, including a game-tying RBI single in the sixth. Maddie Rock added two hits, and Hamric led the team with four RBIs.
Allie Davis took the loss, allowing two earned runs in 4.2 innings with seven strikeouts. Despite the loss, Henryetta showed plenty of offensive firepower and battled until the final swing.
