The Dewar Lady Dragons faced a tough challenge on Thursday, falling 12-0 to the red-hot Keota Lady Lions. Keota opened the game with a fourrun first inning, courtesy of a Jaycee Byrd double and a Rocklyn Johnson single, both driving in two. Byrd continued her offensive tear with a tworun triple in the second and another triple in the third. She finished 3-for-3 with five RBIs, also pitching three nohit innings with seven strikeouts.
Korbyn Anderson took the circle for Dewar, allowing seven hits and 12 runs (only four earned) while striking out two. Defensive miscues, including a dropped third strike, helped Keota extend their lead.
Despite the lopsided score, Dewar fought hard and will look to regroup for their next outing.
