— Meetings & Workshops
• Attended the Board of County Commissioners Meeting.
• Held an Emergency Management Volunteer Meeting.
• Participated in the Northeast Oklahoma Emergency Management Workshop in Tulsa.
— Operations & Coordination
• Resolved two floodplain inquiries from residents.
• Coordinated with the Sheriff ’s Office to provide a location for the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to program radios.
• Continued implementation of equipment and technology upgrades at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Emergency Management (EM) office.
• Attended virtual training for SafetyPlus software.
— Community Engagement
• Received 19 phone calls from residents throughout Okmulgee County requesting smoke detector installation.
• Coordinated with the Red Cross to begin installations the first week of October.
• Residents may contact Okmulgee County Emergency Management to schedule an appointment.
— Planning & Development
• Continued updates to the Emergency
Operations Plan (EOP).
— Summary
This week focused on strengthening community safety efforts, interagency coordination and ongoing upgrades to emergency management capabilities. Smoke detector installations are scheduled to begin in October, and planning efforts for countywide preparedness remain ongoing.
