The Beggs Lady Demons faced a tough challenge Monday night, falling 13-2 to the Kiefer Lady Trojans after a seven-run first inning put them in an early hole. But even against a hard-hitting Kiefer lineup, Beggs showed flashes of determination and clean execution that speak to their grit and growth as a team.
Kaylynn Hamilton shouldered the load in the circle, grinding through five and onethird innings against relentless pressure from Kiefer’s bats. While the Lady Trojans found ways to push across runs, Hamilton battled through every pitch, never losing her compo- sure.
At the plate, Beggs refused to go quietly. Ruby Tenison powered the offense, driving in both of Beggs’ runs with a clutch swing in the middle of the lineup. Emma Trimble, Abigail Harmon and Destiny Chisum also recorded hits, with Trimble showing her defensive instincts as well – handling five plays in the field with confidence.
The Lady Demons’ defense was a bright spot, as they turned two double plays, showcasing their sharpness under pressure. That discipline kept the game from slipping further out of reach, as Beggs continued to fight back inning after inning.
Though Kiefer’s bats carried the day, the heart of the Beggs squad showed through in their refusal to fold. Clean fielding, timely hitting and flashes of power at the plate all point to a team determined to compete no matter the scoreline.
The Lady Demons now look ahead to their next opportunity, carrying with them the fight and resilience that continues to define Beggs softball.
