— Preserving a Legacy
The 60th reunion is more than just a celebration – it’s a tribute to a powerful chapter in Okmulgee’s history. Dunbar High School was once the cornerstone of education for Black students during segregation, and while the school closed following integration, its legacy continues to thrive through its proud alumni.
The reunion committee encourages the public to participate, especially in Saturday night’s community-wide “Walk Down Memory Lane.” Whether you’re a graduate, a friend or a supporter of Dunbar’s mission and history, this weekend is a chance to honor the past and build momentum for the future.
This reunion marks not just 60 years since graduation, but a celebration of community, culture and connection. As the flyer says: “You are invited.” Let the echoes of the Tigers’ pride ring loudly once more in Okmulgee.
