Beggs Homecoming 2025
By Patrick Ford Editor

Homecoming Week is in full swing at Beggs High School as students, faculty, alumni and community members come together to celebrate the spirit, pride, and tradition of being a Beggs Demon. The festivities will culminate in the highly anticipated Homecoming football game on Friday night when the Beggs Golden Demons face off against Community Christian at 7 p.m. at Tate Field. Homecoming Royalty will be crowned prior to kickoff.

With this year’s theme focused on creativity and participation, each day of Spirit Week has brought a wave of enthusiasm to the halls and classrooms, turning Beggs High School into a stage for fun, fashion and school pride.

— A Week of Dress-Up Days & School Spirit Monday – ‘Freaky Friday’ Monday

Kicking off the week was a role-reversal day, where students dressed like their teachers and teachers mimicked the style of students. From slacks and suspenders to graphic tees and sneakers, the hallways were filled with good-natured laughter and fun impersonations that showcased just how closeknit the Demon family truly is.

Tuesday – Adam Sandler Day

Inspired by the laidback and quirky style of beloved comedian and actor Adam Sandler, students were encouraged to dress as one of his many iconic movie characters – or just don oversized basketball shorts, baggy t-shirts and sneakers in Sandler’s trademark casual look. Characters from “Happy Gilmore,” “Billy Madison” and “The Waterboy” made appearances throughout campus.

Wednesday – ‘On Wednesdays We Wear Pink’ A nod to the cult-classic film Mean Girls, Wednesday’s theme brings out a sea of pink to Beggs. Students, teachers and staff showed off their best rose-colored attire, reminding everyone that school pride can be stylish too.

Thursday – Color Wars; Divergent-Style This day taps into the popular Divergent book and film series. Each grade level was assigned a faction and corresponding color:

• Freshmen – Abnegation (Gray)

• Sophomores – Amity (Red)

• Juniors – Erudite (Blue)

• Seniors – Dauntless (Black)

• Teachers – Candor (Black & White) Friday – ‘Stay Gold’ (Black & Gold Day) The week will wrap up with a surge of Demon pride as everyone is asked to wear black and gold in support of the football team. “Stay Gold” not only pays tribute to the school’s colors but also echoes the classic coming-of-age message from The Outsiders – a fitting sentiment for a Homecoming celebration that brings together past and present generations of Beggs students.

Friday night’s game against Community Christian promises to be a thrilling contest as the Demons look to defend their home turf under the lights. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the Homecoming Court coronation will take place before the 7 p.m. kickoff. The ceremony will honor student leaders and recognize those chosen by their peers to represent the spirit and values of Beggs High School.

The stands are expected to be filled with proud parents, alumni returning to their roots, and townspeople eager to support their team. Whether it’s your first Homecoming or your fiftieth, the sense of unity and celebration will be impossible to miss.
