The Beggs Lady Demons battled in the field Thursday night, turning key defensive plays and keeping pressure on Chandler despite falling 10-0 on the road.
The highlight of the night came in the second inning when Beggs shut down Chandler’s momentum with a smooth double play, a reminder of the Lady Demons’ ability to respond under pressure.
At the plate, Ruby Tenison led the way for Beggs, finishing a perfect 2-for-2 and giving her team a spark. Still, the Lady Demons struggled to get on the board despite Tenison’s efforts. Beggs also found it difficult to string together hits, as Chandler’s pitching kept much of the lineup off balance throughout the night.
Kaylynn Hamilton took the ball to start on the mound for the Lady Demons, battling through a tough Chandler lineup in her outing. Relief pitcher Taytum Mills stepped in the circle for the Lady Demons in the second inning.
Though Chandler’s offense found its runs early, Beggs refused to back down, creating moments of tension and keeping themselves in striking distance with strong defensive execution in the later innings.
The Lady Demons now turn their focus to their next challenge, returning home Monday to host Kiefer, where they’ll look to build on Thursday’s defensive highlights and carry that energy forward.
