Cleo Mary Gouthier
Obituaries
September 19, 2025
Cleo Mary Gouthier

Cleo Gouthier, mother of five, passed through the heavenly gates at her home with her family on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, leaving an emptiness her family cannot fill.

She was born in Okmulgee on April 17, 1930, to Lymon, Sr. and Leonis (Durousseau) Cazenave.

Cleo graduated from Uganda Martyrs Catholic School in 1950. She married Rudolph Gouthier, Sr. on December 27, 1950, and they were blessed with five children. Her days were defined by quiet strength helping others and devotion to family and church. She was an excellent seamstress, making all her girls clothes, and was a wonderful cook. A feast could be prepared at a moment’s notice, especially for her out-oftown family. She truly enjoyed family gatherings and always looked forward to the next celebration.

During their 75 years together, Rudolph and Cleo shared many beautiful memories including working their farm, gardening and family and church activities.

Cleo was an active member of Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She will be deeply missed, yet the values and strong work ethic she instilled in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will continue to inspire them.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maureen Motte and Doris Cazenave; twin brother, Leo Cazenave, Sr.; brothers, James Cazenave, Sr.,

and Lymon Cazenave, Jr.; and sons-in-law, Dwight Wilson, Phillip Porter and Darryl Lyons.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolph Gouthier, Sr.; children, Carolyn (Gary) Calip, Pat Wilson (Sukarno Grant), Rudolph (Sandy) Jr. (Rose) Gouthier, Louise Porter, and Jacqueline Lyons, all of Okmulgee, OK; grandchildren, Mark Dungee, Kenny (Kendell) LeBlanc, Ashley Gouthier, Kristen Gouthier, Lauren (Steven) Fisher, and Colby Porter; great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Shahada) Artberry, Keith, and Kash Dungee, Irie and Lowen LeBlanc, Oritse Ogisi, and Harper Metcalf; dear sister, Mildred Dalcour; and brothers-in-law, Charles Gouthier and John (Jean) Gouthier, Jr., very special friend, Anthony Reagan along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

You may visit Mrs. Gouthier as she slumbers in sweet repose in the Chapel of Peace of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. of Okmulgee on Monday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

A Rosary will be held Monday, beginning at 6 p.m. at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church.

Her funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church.
