Lady Knights battle through tough stretch

Lady Knights fall to Oktaha in no-hit loss The Henryetta Lady Knights struggled against elite pitching Thursday in a 5-0 shutout loss to the Oktaha Lady Tigers. Madison Capps no-hit Henryetta over five innings, striking out eight and walking only two.

Oktaha scored twice in the second inning and took advantage of an error in the third. Kynlee Wynne allowed nine hits and five runs (only one earned) in 4.2 innings of work.

A sixth-inning walk-off fielder’s choice broke a 1-1 tie, sending the Henryetta Lady Knights to a narrow 2-1 loss to the Pryor Tigers.

Ailanee Hicks got Henryetta on the board in the first with an RBI double. Keegan Hamric pitched 5.1 strong innings, giving up just one hit while striking out eight. Pryor tied it up in the first on a bunt and eventually pushed across the winning run in the sixth.

Hamric also picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out six. The Knights were perfect defensively and came up big in the bottom of the third, with Hamric’s two-run shot proving to be the game-winner.

• Stolen Bases: 4 (Crews 2) — Lady Knights storm back for walk-off win over Oktaha JV After falling behind 6-0 in the third inning, the Henryetta Lady Knights mounted a thrilling comeback to edge Oktaha JV 7-6 on a walk-off error.

Eight Lady Knights collected hits, and Cialee Watkins drew two of Henryetta’s eight walks. Kynlee Wynne earned the win after going the distance in the circle.
