Lady Dragons pick up big wins, struggle against Quinton
By Patrick Ford Editor

It was a week of highs and lows for the Dewar Lady Dragons softball team as they battled through a grueling schedule, picking up wins over Graham-Dustin and Okmulgee before falling to the Quinton Lady Savages in a tough home matchup.

— Dewar drops 12-0 contest to Qunton The week started on a sour note for Dewar, who fell 12-0 to Quinton. The Lady Savages jumped out to a fast lead in the top of the first, scoring five runs. A two-RBI triple by Mileigh Needham, followed by RBI hits from Paislee Powell and Qwyn Ferguson, put Dewar in an early hole.

Pitcher Korbyn Anderson took the loss for Dewar, surrendering four hits and 12 runs (only two earned) over three innings while striking out two. Anderson also had the only hit for the Lady Dragons in the contest, going 1-for-1 at the plate.

Quinton’s Powell had a standout performance, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

— Lady Dragons come back against Okmulgee The Lady Dragons rebounded quickly later in the week with a convincing 12-2 win over Okmulgee. Dewar exploded for eight runs in the third inning. Jaycie Berry and Emmy Hall delivered RBI singles, and Brooklyn Harvell, Melaina Ramirez and Miracle Story each drove in runs via walks. Kamryn Baughman was hit by a pitch to bring in another run.

Berry earned the win, pitching three innings while striking out four. Offensively, she also led with a 2-for-3, 3-RBI effort. Hall also had two hits, and Story led the team with three walks.

— Dewar pounds Graham-Dustin, 19-3

Dewar ended the week with their most dominant performance, a 19-3 victory over Graham- Dustin. They scored 12 runs in the first inning, including a three-run homer by Hall and a two-run shot by Berry. Kamryn Baughman also delivered a clutch RBI single.

In the second, the Lady Dragons added seven more runs without a hit, capitalizing on wild pitches, walks and errors.

Anderson and Jadyn Ross combined for a no-hit effort. Dewar drew 11 walks in the game, showing strong discipline. Baughman led with five RBIs, while Hall went 2-for-2 and Story walked twice.
