The Academy of Okmulgee (TAOO) rolled out something special this year – a Grandparents Parade to honor and celebrate the important role grandparents play in students’ lives. The event was held Sept. 5. Other schools around the area held events honoring grandparents and their always important role in the lives of young people. Spectators were lined up along 8th Street as the family drove by with decorated vehicles and waved to their special person.
