Wilson to host fastpitch tourney

The Wilson Lady Tigers Fastpitch Tournament, proudly sponsored by MCN Recreation, is set to bring top-tier softball action to Okmulgee County on Thursday and Saturday. With eight teams ready to battle for the title, the double-elimination bracket promises high energy, fierce competition and plenty of local talent on display.

— Tournament Overview The action begins bright and early Thursday morning with a full day of first-round and quarterfinal matchups. Teams from around the region – including Henryetta, Morris, Wilson, Heavener, Hulbert, Oilton, Savanna, and Holdenville – will compete in 30-minute increment games throughout the day.

Here’s a breakdown of the first-round matchups and game times:

• Game 1 (10 a.m. Thursday): Hulbert vs. Henryetta • Game 2 (11:30 a.m. Thursday): Morris vs. Heavener

• Game 3 (1 p.m. Thursday): Winner G1 vs. Winner G2

• Game 4 (2:30 p.m. Thursday): G1 loser vs. G2 loser Later in the day, the second half of the bracket takes the field:

• Game 5 (4 p.m. Thursday): Oilton vs. Savanna

• Game 6 (5:30 p.m. Thursday): Holdenville vs. Wilson

• Game 7 (7 p.m. Thursday): Winner G5 vs. Winner G6

• Game 8 (8:30 p.m. Thursday): G5 loser vs. G6 loser — Saturday Showdowns: The Road to the Championship After a break on Friday, the tournament resumes on Saturday with a morning full of elimination and semifinal matchups:

• Game 9 (11 a.m. Saturday): Winner G3 vs. Winner G7

• Game 10 (12:30 p.m. Saturday): Winner G4 vs. Winner G8 From there, the action transitions to the final rounds:

• Game 11 (2 p.m. Saturday): Elimination bracket semi

• Game 12 (3:30 p.m. Saturday): Elimination bracket final

• Game 13 (5 p.m. Saturday): Championship Game No “if ” game is scheduled; the winner of Game 13 takes the title.

• Championship: Saturday at 5 p.m. – single game to determine the tournament winner – Teams to Watch

• The Henryetta Lady Knights enter the tournament with momentum and a growing roster of standout players.

• The Morris Lady Eagles are expected to bring strong competition in Game 2.

• The Wilson Lady Tigers, the host team, look to capitalize on home-field advantage and crowd energy.

• Holdenville and Savanna have a history of deep tournament runs and could challenge late into Saturday.

All games will be held at Wilson’s softball complex. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, shade tents, and school spirit as they cheer on their teams. Concessions will be available, and the Wilson community is excited to welcome visitors from across the region.
